Poor oral health stems from too many harmful bacteria in the dental plaque. This is a medical condition called dysbiosis. These harmful bacteria persist after dental and hygiene procedures which explains why dental decay is often recurrent and periodontitis is often unresponsive to scaling.
But that’s only half of the story of harmful oral infections. Studies show conclusively that these bacteria worsen general health too. Diabetes, frailty, cognitive decline, sarcopenia, heart and respiratory problems, and certain cancers worsen with poor oral health.
The only treatment for an imbalance of bad bacteria in the mouths is Prevora.
